Join our advisory committee

St. Kate's Student SLA chapter is looking for 3-4 advisory committee members.  The student chapter has a long history of presenting great events throughout the year on campus or working in conjunction with the MN SLA chapter.  We are looking for students to join our advisory committee – we welcome first year students too! We would like to continue this tradition by expanding our advisory committee.   We are looking for individuals to help plan a couple of events a year and expect the time commitment to be very minimal   We work via email with short quick meetings as needed.      Here are some details on some of our upcoming events:  Every December we host a silent auction at the MN SLA chapter holiday party.    These funds send a student member to the SLA conference every year.   And this is a great fun opportunity to network with chapter members.   We would like to host a career development type event and would love to work with our advisory committee to pl

SLA-Minnesota is hosting an continuing education event: Use your influence! Registration is open for the MN SLA Chapter  Sept. 20 program, “The Special Library as an Information Commons,” at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Member Jill Strand and her co-presenters will discuss how the special library as an “information commons” can contribute to an organization’s mission and financial success.
