Thomson Tour and Happy Hour
Join the St. Kate's SLA student group for a tour of Thomson libraries in Eagan. St. Kate's MLIS students are invited to tour the corporate library, the law library and the book manufacturing plant. It's not often that you get a chance to see inside a corporate library, but the Thomson librarians were kind enough to agree to stay late and keep the libraries open for us. They'll give us a tour and answer questions.
After the tour, we'll all meet over at Jake's City Grille for happy hour and some casual networking. If you can't make it to the tour, feel free to meet us at Jake's.
What: Tour Thomson's corporate library, law library & book plant plus Happy Hour
Date: Monday, October 15th
Time: Tour 6:00 - 7:00 pm (please arrive by 5:45), Networking to follow at 7:30 pm
Place: Tour @ Thomson, 610 Opperman Drive, Eagan, MN 55123; Networking @ Jake's
The book manufacturing tour requires that you wear no open toed shoes, please.
Watch out for construction on Highway 149 in Eagan when traveling to Thomson. It's OK - just follow the clearly marked orange "Thomson/West Detour" signs. When arriving at Thomson, drive towards the flag poles and park in Visitor Parking. Come to the front entrance and check in at the security desk. Someone will be there to escort you up to the library. Please arrive promptly by 5:45 pm to be ready for the 6:00 tour.
