COVID-19 Updates

Following the announcement from St. Catherine that all classes will be moving online for the remainder of the semester, SLA will be working to do the same . We will still be holding our April 8th meeting at 5:15 online . More details will be coming via email. Don't forget, we are taking election nominations for our event chair! Send us an email or join the meeting to nominate someone. Our hope is to hold our scheduled April 6th Professionals Panel in some online form, possibly at a later date than previously scheduled. We are working with our panelists to find the best solution and will let you know as soon as we can. There is still time to submit essays for the Travel Stipend ! DEADLINE MARCH 25th! SLA has not yet cancelled its annual meeting and so we are still moving forward with travel stipend funding. Award Opportunity! SLA’s Information Technology Division’s 2019 Student Award

The Information Technology Division of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) is accepting submissions for its 2019 Joe Ann Clifton Student Award to help cover expenses at the 2019 SLA Annual Conference June 14-18, 2019, in Cleveland, OH, not to exceed $1,500.  This award is intended to promote participation in the SLA Annual Conference by an exceptional library science student (or field related to the IT Division's mission). The award also includes Student membership in SLA for one (1) year. The deadline for submission is March 25 , 2019. ARLIS/NA - Twin Cities Conference Travel Award

This year the Art Librarians Society / North America - Twin Cities Chapter is pleased to offer a $400 travel award for the ARLIS/NA Conference in Salt Lake City, UT, March 26-30, 2019 . 2018 SLA Conference Travel Stipend Winner

Congratulations to Maggie Parra! The SLA-MN Award Committee selected Maggie to receive the 2018 SLA Conference Stipend  Award to attend the SLA annual conference in Baltimore this June. The SLA-MN Conference Travel Award is a $1,000 stipend to assist in funding airfare, hotel and conference registration. In 2008, SLA-MN established this award for a current St. Catherine University MLIS student who demonstrates a commitment to the field of special librarianship. Maggie will receive recognition of her award from Eddy Morrow, SLA-MN's President in May. Please join us in congratulating Maggie! We can't wait to hear all about SLA 2018!
