SLA in New Orleans: What a Great Time!

Polly Perkins was our 2010 SLA National Conference Scholarship Winner and she was off to New Orleans in June. Polly wrote of her experience at her first SLA National Conference for the MN SLA Chapter's Spring 2010 Bulletin . Her reflections are reprinted here: SLA in New Orleans: What a Great Time! Scholarship to Attend SLA Conference

This year we are able to offer a $1,500 scholarship to a St. Kate's MLIS student to attend SLA's 2009 conference in Washington, D.C., June 14-17. The application process is quite easy: you must submit an essay of 1,500 words, be attending the conference for the first time, be in the MLIS program at St. Kate's, and be an SLA member (the membership fee is $35, and it's quite possible a member of the Minnesota SLA chapter would sponsor you). Better to make plans early (registration is cheaper earlier) before hotels and flights fill! Details about the conference can be found here .
