Our Spring Information Professionals Panel is on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in CdC Room 128 (in the library). We have a great panel lined up for you: Jo Holcomb, Librarian at The Guthrie  Peter Tomlinson, Librarian at The Minneapolis Valley Library Kathy Allen, Librarian at The Andersen Horticultural Library Lindsey Dyer, Librarian at James J. Hill Center Our panelists will share about their career paths and advice for students. We will record the panel in case you can't make it. We hope to see you there!

Our Fall 2017 Information Professionals Panel is fast approaching! We will hear from an incredible variety of professionals who work in special libraries or non-traditional information roles. We had an excellent panel for our Spring 2017 Information Professionals Panel. Our panelists offered great insights and advice to St. Kate's students. The SLA Student Group is hosting the Spring 2017 Information Professionals Panel on  Monday April 10 at 6:00 p.m.  in CdC 19 . We have a really great group of panelists lined up for you, including:  Jessica Huffman, Research Associate at the American Transportation Research Institute Lindsey Kobow, Taxonomic Analyst Janice Alda Lurie, Head Librarian, Minneapolis Institute of Art Janelle Beitz, Law Librarian, Frederickson & Bryon Marilee Tuite, Librarian, Minnesota Department of Transportation and University of Minnesota The panelists will talk about their job experience and share advice and insights with students. Bring your questions and your appetite - we will have treats, too! We hope to see you all there on Monday !

Upcoming Events - Mark Your Calendars!

We had a great first SLA Student Group meeting and we're looking forward to a lot of fantastic events this fall: Ramsey County Law Library is celebrating its 80th Anniversary on September 26, 2016 !  There will be an open house, presentations, and programs. Hey everyone, come meet some MLIS-holders in alternative careers at our second information professional panel of the semester! The panel will be held on Saturday, April 30 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm in CdC 355. Our panelists are: Dru Frykberg, Librarian at DEED (government) Rachel Howell, Curator of Books at The Bakken Museum (non-profit/science/archiving) Phil Seibel, Digital Media Manager at Aldis Systems (digital asset management/archiving) Refreshments will be provided. The panel is joint-hosted by the St. Kate's SLA and ALA student groups.

Meeting This Week

Our next SLA meeting is this Thursday, April 7 at 5:15pm in CdC 20. Since it's nearing the end of the semester, we'll be talking about elections for next year.
