SLA-MN Chapter Updates
SLA 2025 Annual Conference & Expo Registration is Live!
Registration: Now is the time to register for the 2025 SLA Conference & Expo, the premier learning and networking event for librarians and other information professionals in business, legal, medical, military, government, academic, and other specialized information environments.
Accommodations: SLA has reserved room blocks at two local hotels for conference attendees. In addition, SLA has a large number of University of Pittsburgh dormitory rooms and apartments on hold. Hotel rooms are limited and will fill up quickly. SLA encourages folks to book early!
Keynote Speaker: The 2025 Keynote Speaker will be Emily Drabinski, Associate Professor at the Queens College Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at the City University of New York
Drabinski has published and presented extensively on topics related to gender and sexuality in library and information studies, critical approaches to information organization, and the role of organizing in fostering institutional and field-wide change.
Conference Reimbursement Offer: Two lucky SLA Members will have their conference registration reimbursed once they register and pay in full by March 1, 2025. All members in good standing will be automatically included in a special opportunity to receive a reimbursement of their conference entry fee.

The librarian works as a collaborative team member of the Records and Library Services team. The person in this multifaceted role participates in project work and works with two active business processes: library services and the records management program. Records and Library Services supports approximately 1,200 internal clients in the United States and Canada.

Community Digital Repository Project Assistant - East Side Freedom Library (St. Paul, MN)
The digital repository team at East Side Freedom Library works to identify and digitally preserve at-risk collections that broaden an often homogenized historical landscape. We collaborate with the communities represented in the materials throughout the digitization process to ensure materials are culturally respected, accurately described, and made accessible to all–using emerging radical archival practices. The collections that will become part of the repository offer valuable community knowledge in alignment with the ESFL mission to mobilize community knowledge for solidarity, justice, and equity for all.
The Community Digital Repository Project Assistant is a part-time (20 hours/week, benefits-eligible [health, dental, vision coverage]) position that serves on the digital repository team. This position is grant-funded through May 2026.

SGO/GSAB Updates
Upcoming GSAB Board Meetings
February 19, March 19, April 16, & May 7 from 4:45 - 6:00 PM
The St. Catherine University (The University) Graduate School Student Advisory Board (GSAB) serves as a liaison between the students in the various graduate programs / schools (The Students) within The University and members of The University administration. Reimbursement requests for professional development training can be submitted through SLA-SG to GSAB, with students able to receive up to $400 in reimbursement for eligible expenses.
