Gale Family Library - Pictures

 Hello all,

Earlier this month, SLA-SG had the opportunity to visit the Gale Family Library and its unique collections. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Here are some pictures we took to commemorate our visit:

The extent of the archived collections needs to be seen to be believed.

An old state map welcomes visitors at the door.

It was a great privilege to see these rare items up close, and even handle some ourselves.

A dapper gentleman made sure we left the collection as tidied up as himself.

Fire insurance maps dating back through the last century.

A sample of the library's children's books.

One of the oldest items in the collection, an antique
and beautifully illustrated history of the world.

We had a great time, and we'd like to once again thank the staff of Gale Family Library for curating this space for us!

If you wanted to join us but couldn't make it, don't forget that we have a trip to the Andersen Horticultural Library coming up this May! Please see our previous post for more details, including a link to RSVP.
